The room analysis is on the Measure tab. In the left sidebar, switch from Measurements to Analysis. The Room section is first, with Directivity below it. The tick box in the Room header turns the Room surfaces layer on the plot on or off.
Room analysis is part of AudioMap Pro, and of the trial.
On the Measure, Timing or Tuning tab, open the view dropdown (the layout icon) and choose Impulse. Switch the scale between Linear and Log (dB). On the Timing tab, Per trace scales each trace to its own peak.
Reflections are marked on the impulse response. Hover a marker to read it: Direct for the direct sound, otherwise its time and level (for example 4.8 ms / -9.0 dB). Second-order reflections are prefixed 2nd:.
In the Room section, Detected Surfaces lists the walls, floor and ceiling AudioMap has found, each with a confidence percentage. Detection runs on its own when an auto-capture run finishes all its targets, if the Room surfaces layer is on. Re-detect runs it again.
The Room section’s table, ISO 3382 MEASURED, gives the room parameters in each octave band for one measured position, named in the title. When there are more, the title says how many more are in the CSV.
- EDT: early decay time, the first 10 dB of decay. It tracks how reverberant the room sounds.
- T20 and T30: decay time measured over 20 or 30 dB of decay, scaled to 60 dB.
- RT60: the reverberation time. A starred value was taken from T20.
- C50, C80 and D50: clarity and definition, early energy against late energy.
Dimmed values are low confidence. A dagger (†) after an RT60 means the decay ran longer than the analysis window; the footer then says window too short — capture at 64k+ FFT. The footer gives the measured mid-band RT60 next to the RT60 estimated from the room’s geometry. CSV exports the parameters for every measured position.
Below the Schroeder frequency, a room behaves as separate resonances (modes) rather than as a diffuse field. The Room section lists the modes below it, titled Room modes · below Schroeder ~N Hz: each mode’s frequency, its index and whether it’s axial, tangential or oblique. When a mode lines up with a peak in your measurements, its row also gives the height of that peak in dB. When the Schroeder frequency is estimated from the room’s geometry, the title adds (estimated from geometry). A room with openings carries the note room has openings — modal predictions approximate.
On the Magnitude plot, the Room modes chip (bottom left; hover to see it) marks the modes and draws the Schroeder line. It’s off by default. If there’s nothing to show, it says why, for example Room modes: measure the room to see its modes.
The room view can show the level across the room as a map. Set the frequency with the FREQ dial. Open the layers drawer on the plot to choose what’s drawn, including Room surfaces, Reflections, Coverage cones, Microphones, Directivity (field) and Residual (field).
Measured Residual corrects the forward model toward the measurements near the mics. It’s on by default. Turn it off from the Residual chip or the Residual (field) row in the layers drawer, or View › Measured Residual in the menu bar, to see the forward model on its own.
