Support topics
- Will my v1 licence work?
- Yes. AudioMap 2 reads the same licence file as AudioMap 1 and maps each licence to the same tier.
- Do I have to pay to upgrade to AudioMap 2?
- No. AudioMap 2 is a free upgrade for every AudioMap 1 owner. Your licence carries over at the same tier. You get a fresh 12 months of updates, counted from the day AudioMap 2.0 is released.
- Will my v1 projects open?
- Yes. The first time you save over a v1 project, AudioMap 2 keeps the original beside it as "<name> (AudioMap 1 backup).json". About the backup →
- Can I go back to 1.9.11?
- Yes, and your settings and licence still work. But don’t open a project saved in AudioMap 2 in 1.9.11: its measurements load with no data, and saving it there loses them. Open the backup file instead. Rolling back safely →
- Can I keep AudioMap 1 and 2 installed side by side?
- No. Both are AudioMap.app, so AudioMap 2 replaces AudioMap 1.
- What do I need?
- macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon, plus an audio interface and a measurement microphone. That covers the app, AudioMap Bridge and the plugin.
- My Mac runs macOS 11 or 12. What happens?
- It stays on AudioMap 1.9.x. The updater doesn't offer it 2.0, and the AudioMap 2 installer stops before it installs anything.
- How do I set up on Lite or Essentials?
- Lite and Essentials have no setup wizard (see pricing for what each edition includes). Open Settings › Audio and choose your interface under Device Configuration. Both tiers work with 2 speakers and 1 microphone. A reference wire is optional: in the mixer, press + in the Reference section and pick the input the wire comes back on.
- What does AudioMap Bridge install?
- An audio driver that shows up as a device named "AudioMap Bridge", and AudioMap Control, a menu-bar app with AudioMap Engine inside it, which runs the correction. The AudioMap installer puts all of them down with the app.
- Why does it need a driver?
- So the Mac's audio can run through your correction. With "AudioMap Bridge" as the Mac's output, AudioMap Engine takes what the Mac plays from that device, runs it through your correction and plays it to your previous output.
- Does the correction keep playing when I quit AudioMap?
- Yes. AudioMap Control keeps correcting after AudioMap closes, and says "AudioMap closed — still correcting".
- How do I remove it?
- Run "Uninstall AudioMap" from the AudioMap disk image. It removes the app, AudioMap Bridge and the plugin, and the "AudioMap Bridge" device disappears from your device list. It asks before removing settings, logs and licence data.

Plugin
- Is the plugin included?
- Yes. AudioMap Plugin (AU and VST3) is a choice in the AudioMap 2 installer, selected by default. It plays an AudioMap project or .amcp correction profile. It reads its licence from AudioMap on the same Mac; if your edition doesn’t include playback, audio passes through unchanged (see pricing). About the plugin →

Privacy
- What data does AudioMap send?
- Usage data: feature use, setup steps, readings and logs, project names, app version and licence tier. It is linked to your AudioMap account (email and name), and correction profile exports include the file name. It never includes audio or measured responses, and your home folder is removed from any file location it records. Usage sharing is on by default. Measurement sharing is a separate setting, and it is also on until you answer the question AudioMap asks once, the first time an auto-capture run finishes all its targets. Privacy & usage data →
- Can I turn it off?
- Yes. Settings › Privacy › Share usage data. Turning it off stops sending at once and drops anything not yet sent.
- What happens after the 21-day trial?
- AudioMap shows Trial Ended. Choose Continue with AudioMap Lite to keep using it free, with 2 speakers and 1 microphone. Manage License takes you to the upgrade options.
- What does each licence include?
- Lite is free: the analyser, with 2 speakers and 1 microphone. Essentials ($99) adds EQ correction from your measurements and parametric EQ export to your own processor. Standard ($399) adds the setup wizard, speaker positioning, multi-position auto-capture and playback through AudioMap, AudioMap Control and the plugin. Pro ($799) adds time alignment, crossover design, coverage heatmaps and the API, with up to 32 speakers and 32 microphones. The 21-day trial is Pro. Pricing →
- Can I use Essentials for paid work?
- No, commercial use needs Standard or Pro.
- My v1 trial ran out. Do I get a new one with AudioMap 2?
- Yes. If your AudioMap 1 trial has ended, you get one fresh 21-day trial the first time you open AudioMap 2.
