Open Settings (⌘,) and choose the Privacy tab. It has two separate controls: a button for sharing measurement data, and the Share usage data switch.
It sends feature use, setup steps, readings and logs, project names, app version and licence tier, linked to your account. It never includes audio or measured responses, and your home folder is removed from any file location it records.
- It’s on unless you turn it off. The licence agreement screen says so the first time you open AudioMap: Usage analytics and setup diagnostics are on to help us improve setup. You can turn them off in Settings › Privacy.
- It takes effect at once. Turning it off stops sending and clears anything waiting to be sent.
- “Linked to your account” means the events carry your email and, where AudioMap has it, your first and last name.
- The events record things like opening the app, switching tabs, taking measurements, wizard steps, exports and licence activity.
- Audio of any kind.
- Your measured responses in usage data. Measurement sharing, below, is a separate setting.
- Your licence key.
- Your home folder. Where an event records a file location, your home folder is replaced with ~; the rest of the location and the file name are sent.
The project’s name (its file name, without the folder) is sent when you save or open a project, and a correction profile’s file name when you export one.
Above the switch, Help us improve shares your measurements, linked to your licence. The panel reads Contributing to smarter acoustics while you’re in, and Stop contributing takes you out.
Measurement sharing is on until you answer. AudioMap asks once, the first time an auto-capture run finishes all its targets, with Help us improve or Not now.
The same choice also turns crash reports on or off. Crash reports stay off until you choose.
